Fenerbahce vs Feyenoord prediction 12.08.2025 | Champions League qualification

Fenerbahce in the last few years have had some solid appearances in the Europa and Conference League, but in the most elite European competition, the Champions League, they haven't played since 2009. The last few seasons weren't good for Fenerbahce in Turkish football, either, as they have been waiting for the national title for 11 years. The club from Istanbul had an almost perfect preseason with four wins in five matches, but they stumbled in their first official game, against Feyenoord. The second leg will be a key test of their true strength this season.

Fenerbahce have almost a full squad available for the second leg against Feyenoord as Rodrigo Becao and Mert Hakan Yandas should be the only ones unavailable. 

Although Feyenoord won only one title in the last eight years in the Dutch Eredivisie, it seems that the team from De Kuip is now at least equal with PSV and Ajax. Feyenoord were solid in the Champions League last season, with 19th position in the regular season and a defeat in the 1/8 final against Inter Milan. Their preseason results were underwhelming, but they have started the new campaign strongly with victories over Fenerbahce and NAC Breda.

Feyenoord have big problems with missing players. Shiloh Zand, Antef Tsoungui, Gernot Trauner, Jakub Moder, Jeyland Mitchell, Thomas Beelen, Julian Carranza, and Gijs Smal are unavailable for Tuesday's game. In the first leg, these absences forced Robin van Persie to pair recent signing Anel Ahmedhodžić with Tsuyoshi Watanabe at center-back. Despite having never played together, the duo impressed the head coach, who said you couldn't tell they had never played together. We should expect Ahmelhodzic and Watanabe to start in the second leg, too.
