Both teams met more than five years ago in the UEFA Europa League group stage. Malmo remained unbeaten across the two legs - they drew 1-1 in Sweden and then picked up a 1-0 win at FC Copenhagen. A 0-0 draw last week was their first H2H meeting after a six-year absence.
FC Copenhagen team overview
FC Copenhagen began their journey to qualify for the group stage of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round with a 3-0 win over Kosovan side Drita in the two first legs. In the first leg of the third qualifying round against Malmo, however, the Danish champions were not as adventurous and attack-minded as against Drita. The match ended 0-0, although FC Copenhagen had more shots on goal than Malmo.
Striker Youssoufa Moukoko returned to the starting XI in the league game against AGF and is expected to start on Tuesday. Magnus Mattsson scored twice in the first qualifying round first leg against Drita and scored again at the weekend against AGF.

Malmo team overview
The Swedish champions began their Champions League qualifying campaign in the first round against Georgian side Iberia, whom they defeated convincingly 6-2 in the two first legs. In the second round, they faced Latvian club RFS - a clear 4-1 victory in Riga was enough to advance to the second leg, which Malmö also won 1-0. The first leg against FC Copenhagen was not Malmo's best performance, as they were rather ineffective in attack and only achieved an xG of 0.15 despite playing at home.
Malmo have a fully fit squad to face FC Copenhagen in the second leg. Forward Sead Hakšabanović replaced Hugo Bolin in the 59th minute of the first leg against the Danish champions and should start the second leg ahead of him, considering that him and Taha Ali have both scored 5 goals combined in the first two Champions League qualifying rounds.

Prediction
Malmo's rather disappointing performance in the first leg in front of a home crowd raised some doubts about the team's attacking prowess against a slightly superior opponent. They only created 0.15 chances on goal and only had four shots on goal in the entire match. Even if FC Copenhagen did not deliver the best attacking performance with an xG value of 0.36 on 10 shots on goal, the home record suggests that the Copenhageners should be much more dominant and harder to stop on Tuesday. Last season, FC Copenhagen won 63% of their home games and only lost once all season. As Malmö lost an important game in the Allsvenskan against league leaders Mjallby at the weekend with 1-3, the Copenhageners will not start with much confidence on Tuesday. For this reason, we are predicting a win for FC Copenhagen and a place in the next round.
Three reasons we expect FC Copenhagen to Win
- FC Copenhagen were more dominant in attack in the first leg - they recorded 10 shots against 4
- Last season, FC Copenhagen won 63% of home matches, losing only once during the entire season
- Last season, Malmo won only 40% of away matches. Speaking of this season, Malmo have won only 4 out of a possible 10 away encounters in the league
Main prediction -
to win
