The bottom two teams in Group C of the North American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup meet on Wednesday night, when Barbados play host to Aruba.

Barbados began the second round with successive defeats, losing 4-1 to Curaçao and 3-1 to Haiti in June. The Bajan Tridents responded well, however, with a run of four straight wins in the Nations League, before being eliminated by Guyana in the knockout stage after a 9-4 defeat. Wednesday’s game is a perfect opportunity for them to respond and the bookies see them as favorites.

Aruba meanwhile began the second round with a 2-0 defeat to Curaçao, before playing out a 2-2 draw in their second game. They went on to lose six consecutive Nations League games whilst shipping seventeen goals in the process. However, the Scrape Boys did manage to secure a win over Cambodia in a friendly last week, and head coach Marvic Bermúdez will be hoping for more of the same this week.

Barbados vs Aruba Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

Although Aruba have struggled to secure victories in recent months, they have consistently found the back of the net. The visitors boast at least one goal in five of their last six matches, and all but one of those games ended with two or more goals.

Barbados have been ruthless in attack in recent games, finding the back of the net three or more times in all but one of their last six matches. Five of those games ending with a tally of more than three goals and I expect a similar outcome on Wednesday.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Barbados vs Aruba prediction: 3-2

Aruba

Aruba team news

Nickenson Paul will be available for selection on Wednesday, having served a one-match ban against Sint Maarten in the Nations League in November.

Paul’s return means that Darryl Bäly may be replaced in central defence, although head coach Marvic Bermúdez is not expected to make many changes to his starting line-up.

  1. All the last 15 competitive games of Barbados ended with over three goals.
  2. Only one of the last six games of Aruba produced less than three goals.
