Last year, Banik Ostrava finished third, which was their best finish in a very long time. They were only three points away from the third place and the Champions League Qualifiers. Unfortunately, they failed to make it to the Conference League group stage last year, losing in the third round to FC Copenhagen. Interestingly, the popular "Banicek" have never reached the Group Stage of any European competition and will try to change that this year. The season in the Czech Republic has already started, but Banik Ostrava opened the season poorly, with a 1:0 loss to Bohemians.
Legia are widely considered the greatest club in Poland, with 21 league titles. However, they haven't won one in the last four years, and the only reason they play in European Qualifiers is because they won the Cup. In Extraklasa, they had a pretty poor season, finishing fifth - seven points away from European spots. Yet, the popular Militarians opened the current season well, winning the Super Cup against Lech, while also winning both games against Aktobe in the first round of the EL Qualifiers.
Banik Ostrava vs Legia pick: Under 2.5 goals
Banik Ostrava went under 2.5 goals in their first game of the season, losing 1:0 to Bohemians. Even though they had almost 70% ball possession and 19 goal attempts, none of them were too dangerous, and we believe they weren't too close to scoring. So, it is hard to expect them to score against Legia, which had two clean sheets in the first three games.
Legia went under 2.5 goals in two of three games. Both games against Aktobe in the EL Qualifiers finished with 1:0. Keeping a clean sheet in Europe isn't really news for the Militarians, considering they had eight of them in 14 European games last year - 57%.
Considering all the above, but especially Legia's fantastic defensive displays this season, we expect to see fewer than three goals in this Europa League Qualifiers tie.
Banik Ostrava team news
The club was pretty passive in the offseason. Four players left the team, but none of whom left were an essential part of the rotation. On the other hand, Christian Frydek and Viktor Budinsky joined the team but were backups in the first game of the season, and we doubt they would find their place in the starting eleven this year.

Legia team news
On 15th July, the club bought Mileta Rajovic for a transfer fee of 500k euros from Watford. The 25-year-old striker did not play in the previous game since he arrived two days before the match and wasn't registered. Now, we should see him vs Banik Ostrava, at least for limited minutes.
The Polish FA decided to postpone the match between Legia and Piast because they expected Legia's flight from Kazakhstan to be delayed. So, the Militarians had an extra time to prepare for the EL Qualifiers match.
