Bahrain return to action on Saturday in high spirits after back-to-back Gulf Cup Group B victories in the past month. After an outstanding 3:2 win against Saudi Arabia, the Dilmuns secured their place in the last four with an impressive 2:0 win against Iraq on Wednesday. 

Sitting at the top of the section with six points on the board, Bahrain will finish top of the section should they avoid defeat at the Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Stadium.

Dragan Talajić´s side has certainly improved in 2024. Bahrain have lost only three of 15 internationals played over the past year, while they also boast an excellent recent record in matches against Yemen. The Dlimuns won seven of their nine previous encounters against Noureddine Ould Ali´s side. 

Indeed, while Bahrain continue to show their qualities, Yemen face early elimination from the competition after losing both of their first two group games against Iraq (1:0) and Saudi Arabia (3:2).

A miserable run of results has seen Yemen fail to win any of eight international matches, with five defeats suffered during that period. 

While Bahrain will top the section irrespective of Saturday's results, I still expect Talajić´s men to to complete their group campaign in style. I´m backing Bahrain to maintain their fine form with another victory against Yemen.
