Larnaca failed to win the Cypriot top-flight title once again last season. The Guardians finished fourth, 14 points behind the leaders, but the campaign ended happily as they won the Cypriot Cup.

The Militarians have had a sluggish start to the new league campaign, but remain unbeaten after two games, achieving one win and one draw.

Having also avoided defeat in each of their last three away games in Europe, they will be feeling confident about their chances against Larnaca this week.
