Sparta Prague will be looking to register three consecutive wins for the third time this season when they welcome RB Salzburg to the Czech Republic for the Champions League group stage opener.

There has been plenty of Champions League action for the hosts this season. Lars Friis’ side saw off the likes of Shamrock Rovers and FCSB in the qualifying rounds before registering a 4-0 aggregate win over Malmo in the Playoffs to secure a place in the group stage.

Red Bull Salzburg also managed to secure a place in the qualifying rounds after ending their winning run of ten consecutive league titles in Austria last season. The Red Bulls started their 2024-25 European campaign in the third qualifying round, beating Eredivisie side Twente 5-4 over the course of two legs.

Sparta Prague vs Salzburg Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

Sparta Prague are having fun when it comes to scoring goals right now. The Czech side boast at least two goals from each of their last seven games across all competitions. Their goal scoring record at home in Europe is also top notch with the Marooons boasting at least a goal in each of the last six European games on home soil.

RB Salzburg can’t also be underestimated when it comes to scoring goals. The last time the Austrian side failed to score was on 5th May against Rapid Win in the League. They have since played 16 games across all competitions, scoring in all and struck at least twice in seven of the last ten.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Sparta Prague vs Salzburg prediction: 2-1
