On Wednesday afternoon, two Veikkausliiga teams, Haka and Inter Turku, will face off in the Suomen Cup Semi-Finals at Tehtaan Kenttä in Valkeakoski.

In recent seasons, Haka were mostly a mid-table team. Last year, they finished in a disappointing ninth place out of 12 teams. However, they were not too close to being relegated because the bottom two teams were terrible. In the end, Haka finished ten points above the relegation playout. This year looks a lot better, as they are currently in 5th place. Unfortunately, it seems they are slowing down, as they won just against the last-placed Ekenas in the last five games.

Inter Turku were primarily in the upper half of the league's table in the last five games, even finishing second in 2019 and 2020, behind HJK. Last year wasn't as great as they finished 6th with only 35 points in 27 rounds. Still, this season started great for the "Black and Blues" as they managed to win the League Cup title before the start of Veikkausliiga. Right now, in the league, Inter Turku are 7th with 28 points - three points away from the 6th place and the Championship round. More importantly, they are in fantastic form and have every reason to be optimistic about the upcoming Soumen Cup tie.

Haka vs Inter Turku pick: Over 2.5 goals

Throughout the season, these teams mainly played high-scoring games. In the league, Haka were over 2.5 goals in 65% of their games, while Inter Turku were over 2.5 goals line in 70% of their matches.

Lately, Haka have been in poor form, losing three of the last five matches. Their defense totally collapsed, allowing ten goals in the last five matches, and a clean sheet here looks pretty unreal. Still, regardless of the results, Haka's offense is doing well and has scored two or more goals in six of the last eight matches.
