A competitive and potentially tight Veikkausliiga contest is expected this weekend as league leaders FC Inter Turku protect their unbeaten run at Veritas Stadium

Fourteen games into the campaign, the home side sit at the top of the Veikkausliiga, and still unbeaten with eight wins and six draws collected.  

Vesa Vasara´s men maintained their unvanquished stretch with a hard-fought 1:0 win at Haka last weekend, and have now claimed five wins in seven road games this season.

A little less convincing in home games, Inter have been held to draws in four of seven games played at Veritas Stadium. With that statistic in mind, I prefer to look toward the goal markets for Saturday's fixture.

Low-scoring outcomes have been particularly frequent in this fixture, and in Turku´s recent matches. Five of Inter´s last seven games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, while each of the last ten encounters between these sides finished with the same outcome.

While FF Jaro have seen more high-scoring outcomes in their most recent matches, the historical data does point toward a tight fixture this weekend. The visitors also saw under 2.5 goals in three of five previous away Veikkausliiga fixtures.

With Inter dropping points in three of their last five home games, I'm taking a chance on Saturday's game finishing with fewer than three goals.

Under 2.5 goals is my best bet at Veritas Stadium.
