The seventh Matchday of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign sees Everton and Newcastle United face off at Goodison Park with both sides looking to register their second and fourth wins of the season respectively.
Everton have left it until the later stages of the campaign to secure top flight safety in each of the last three seasons and that’s likely to be the case again this season. Sean Dyche’s side began their 2024-25 Premier League campaign with four consecutive defeats, losing to Brighton, Tottenham and Aston Villa while conceding 13 goals in the process. There have been some improvements lately, with the Blues avoiding defeat in each of their last three outings, including a 2-1 comeback win over Crystal Palace in the league last weekend.
Newcastle United meanwhile have not had too many negative results this season. Eddie Howe’s side beat Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves and Southampton while sharing the points with Man City and Bournemouth. The Magpies' only defeat of the campaign came away to Fulham, something they will be concerned about ahead of this weekend's visit to Goodison.
