The first El Clasico of the 2024-25 campaign takes place this weekend as Real Madrid welcome FC Barcelona to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid had another campaign to remember last year. Los Blancos won the La Liga title with just one defeat in 38 games and also went all the way to win the Champions League for the 15th time in their history. Domestically, Carlo Ancelotti's side have managed to pick up wins this season without particurlary playing very well and Real Madrid sit three points behind league leaders Barca. But after the fantastic comeback win over Leipzig in Europe in midweek, the Whites will be fancying their chances of going top with a win on Saturday.
Barcelona showed glimpses of excellence under Xavi, but recent results suggest they have more fluidity and good chemistry within the team under Hansi Flick. The visitors enter the El Clasico on a four-game winning streak and have scored at least three times in as many games. What makes it even more exciting is that their last win came against Bayern in the Champions League, a victory that ended a six-game losing streak against the Germans.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
When it comes to meetings between Real Madrid and Barcelona, there is always plenty of entertainment. Each of the last seven meetings across all competitions produced three or more goals and bets on over 2.5 goals were also won in all the last seven La Liga encounters between the two clubs.
Aside from that both sides are in great goal-scoring form at the moment with the hosts boasting at least two goals from each of their last three games, while Barcelona are averaging three goals a game this season. Anything other than three or more goals this weekend at the Bernabéu will be a huge surprise.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Real Madrid vs Barcelona prediction: 2-2
