Juventus will be looking to continue their impressive start to the 2024-25 campaign when they play host to Roma on Sunday evening.
The hosts have been unable to reclaim the Italian top flight crown since their run of nine consecutive Scudettos came to an end in 2019-20. Under Paolo Montero, Juventus finished third last season, their best league finish in four years and new boss Paolo Montero looks set to build on that. The Old Lady have taken two wins from their two games so far and kept a clean sheet in both.
Roma meanwhile were in great form towards the end of last season following the sacking of José Mourinho. The Giallorossi have now finished sixth in each of the last three Serie A seasons, something head coach Daniele De Rossi will be looking to change this term but his side has made a poor start to the campaign. A point against Cagliari on the opening day of the campaign was followed by a 2:1 defeat to Empoli last weekend.
Juventus vs Roma Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals
Juventus' centre-back partnership of Gleison Bremer and Federico Gatti has clicked. The Old Lady are yet to concede a goal this season and their goalkeeper, Michele Di Gregorio, has been forced to make just one save.
While some will argue that Thiago Motta's men have not been tested by a strong opponent, their defensive record against Roma is also solid, especially at the Allianz, where they have kept a clean sheet in three of the last four meetings.
Recent encounters between Juventus and Roma have not been particularly entertaining either. All four of their previous meetings have ended with goals scored under 2.5, and I'm looking forward to a similar result this weekend.
