The Championship kicks off at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday evening, with Cardiff hosting Sunderland in the opening round of the new campaign.

A return to competitive action will be welcomed by two sides who have enjoyed decent pre-season preparations ahead of their first Championship fixture of the new season.
Cardiff, set for a sixth season in England´s second tier, have been particularly strong, with the hosts unbeaten in seven friendly fixtures since the start of July. The Bluebirds picked up impressive wins against Hamburg and Reading, while also picking up draws against South African opponents Mamelodi Sundowns and Germans Hertha Berlin in a seven-game unbeaten spell.
Recent home fixtures have proven entertaining for Bluebirds fans, with both teams scoring in six of their last seven matches in Cardiff. The Welsh side also saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five home Championship matches at the end of last season.
Sunderland make the trip to Wales after some decent performances during their pre-season campaign. The Black Cats picked up draws against Nottingham Forest and Marseille while also claiming aways wins at Eldense and Blackpool.
Now under the charge of French boss Regis Le Bris, Sunderland have enjoyed some entertaining friendly fixtures this summer with four of their last five games seeing BTTS, including a 2:2 draw against Ligue 1 opponents Marseille last weekend.
While the Black Cats were hardly an entertaining watch towards the end of last season - Sunderland saw only five goals scored in their last six games of the campaign - I expect a more engaging and high-quality contest on Saturday.
At this early stage of the season, it's impossible to draw too many solid conclusions from recent stats, however, I do fancy both teams to score at Cardiff City Stadium
