Aston Villa welcome Celtic to Villa Park on Wednesday night, with both sides looking for a win that could see them finish in the top eight of the Champions League group stage.
The hosts impressed in the Premier League last season, finishing fourth, and are making good use of the Champions League place they got rewarded with. Unai Emery's side are ninth in the table, with only goal difference separating them from the top eight and are yet to lose a home Champions League game this season. However, the Villans have been struggling of late as they go into Wednesday's clash with a run of three straight games without a win.
Celtic, meanwhile, sit ten points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and have not been too bad in Europe. The Bhoys are 18th in the Champions League standings and only one point separates them from eighth place. Having also won five of their last six games in all competitions, they will fancy their chances against Aston Villa this week.
Aston Villa vs Celtic Betting Tips: Villa to win
While Aston Villa are winless in their last three games, they have a great record at Villa Park and I fancy them to beat Celtic on Wednesday.
The Villans are unbeaten in their last nine home games across all competitions and picked up five wins in that spell. And with one of those victories coming against Manchester City in the Premier League, anything other than a home win this week would be a surprise.
- Best Tip: Villa to win
- Aston Villa vs Celtic prediction: 2-1

Celtic team news
Celtic are set to be without Japanese professional Daizen Maeda on Wednesday against Aston Villa due to a suspension.
Maeda is suspended after picking up a straight red card in the defeat to Young Boys in Scotland on Matchday 7.
On the injury front, the Scottish side will be without Odin Thiago Holm this week due to a calf injury but the midfielder is their only injury concern.
