Roma return to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday vening when they host AC Milan in a Serie A contest.
AS Roma vs AC Milan Betting Tips - Roma to Win/BTTS
Milan return to the Stadio Olimpico just four days after a crushing 1-0 defeat to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final. Dan Ndoye’s second-half strike sealed the trophy for the Rossoblù, adding to what has been a dismal campaign for the Rossoneri.
Now reliant on their league position to secure European qualification for next season, Milan make the trip to Italy's capital currently eighth in the division, three points behind Roma in the race for a top six spot.
While in decent form in the past month, Wednesday's cup final defeat is likely to prove damaging to Milanese momentum this week. The departure of head coach Sergio Conceicao has also been confirmed, and it remains to be seen if Milan have the stomach for Sunday's difficult return to the Olimpico.
Roma have enjoyed a brilliant second-half of the season under soon-to-retire boss Claudio Ranieri. Unbeaten in 18 Serie A matches before last weekend's 2:1 loss against Atalanta in Bergamo, I Giallorossi sit sixth in the division, and on-course to secure European football next season.
An outstanding run of form at the Olimpico has seen Roma remain unbeaten while winning nine of 11 previous home Serie A games. Across all competitions, Ranierie's men picked up wins in 16 of their last 18 games in Rome.
Previous encounters suggest we should be in for an entertaining contest on Sunday. All but one of their last 13 meetings finished with both teams scoring, and a similar outcome is likely again this weekend.
Still, with Roma in such good form at home, and Milan reeling from their Coppa Italia heartbreak, I'm backing the hosts to maintain winning form this weekend.
A home win is my best bet at the Stadio Olimpico.
