There are only three La Liga rounds left in the 2024/25 season, but Alaves is still far from avoiding relegation. They are only one point above the drop zone and need every possible point in the final three rounds to avoid returning to La Liga 2. Alaves played better lately, as they had three games without defeat in a row until last weekend, when the team from Vitoria-Gasteiz lost 1-0 on the road against Athletic Bilbao. The guests played solid and probably deserved something from that tie, but eventually went home empty-handed.

Everything changed in January when Valencia started playing significantly better, so Carlos Corberan's team now has a solid chance of securing a Conference League spot next season. Valencia are undefeated in the last ten matches. In the previous game, they won 3-0 at home against Getafe. The home side finished the match with an xG of 2.72, while the guests had only 0.56, so it would be unfair for any other outcome than Valencia's victory.
