Last year, Haka had a decent season, finishing sixth and losing in the Conference League Playoff Finals in a really close duel. Before the start of the season, their goal was to return to the Championship Group and compete for European Qualifiers. Unfortunately, that will most likely not happen after such a weak start. Now, they are in 9th place (out of 12 teams) with only 12 points - six points away from the Championship Group. Ilves on the other hand, had a bounce-back season last year. After being close to elimination in 2023, they finished second in 2024 - just two points away from the title. This year, after a magnificent start, the popular "Lynx" slowed down a bit and are now sitting in fourth place with 22 points from 12 rounds. Still, they are only three points away from the top spot, but with one game played more than the first-placed Inter Turku. The main problem why they aren't higher on the league's table is due to their poor road record. Now, they will have a chance to improve that record against a team they have had success against in recent h2h matches, winning three of the last four.
