After beating Dunkerque in the Playoff Semi-Finals, Metz will face off against Reims in the Playoffs Final. The first leg will take place at Stade Saint-Symphorien in Metz.

In the last decade, Metz have constantly travelled between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Last year, they suffered relegation and are looking for an instant return this year. While they hoped to avoid the playoffs, they eventually ended up four points away from direct promotion. Now, they are only two games away from promotion, and after a good performance in the Semi-Finals, they have every reason to be optimistic. Still, the bookies see them as a pretty big underdog to secure Ligue 1.

Reims are playing their seventh consecutive season in the Ligue 1. Before this season, they weren't even close to getting relegated. This year, "The Red and Whites" started well, and after the first third of the season, they floated around the European spots. Unfortunately, after that good start, they were pretty bad and eventually dropped to 16th place. To be fair, they were in a good position to avoid a relegation playoff, but lost three in a row and ended up one point away from the safe zone.

Metz vs Reims pick: Metz to win or draw

Metz are in good form having won back-to-back games against Dunkerque and Laval. If we look further back, we can see they only lost against Pau FC in the last 11 matches. Still, that was a close match on the road. At home, Metz have been incredible this year, losing once in 18 games with a 61% win rate.

On the other hand, Reims are in bad momentum after losing three in a row. Yes, those were against good teams, but it's still a horrible record. Additionally, away from home, they had massive problems scoring as they failed to do so in six of the last ten!

While we expect a close match, considering all the above, we believe that the hosts are capable of securing at least a draw in the first leg at Stade Saint-Symphorien.
