RFS will be confident of maintaining winning form when they take on BFC Daugavpils at Stadionā Esplanāde on Monday afternoon.

An excellent run of results in the past weeks has seen the men from Riga win six and lose just one of their last seven Higher League fixtures. Currently second in the division, Viktors Morozs's side find themselves only five points behind city rivals Riga in the race for Latvian title glory.

A remarkably dominant record in this fixture suggests there should only be one winner in Monday's matchup. RFS claimed victory in all but one of their last 29 matches against Daugavpils in the past decade.

High-scoring victories can usually be expected when RFS are in action. Morozs's side have seen over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven games, and in each of their last six wins against Daugavpils. 

BFC returns to action after breaking a five game Higher League winless run with an entertaining 3:2 victory against Grobina on Thursday. Raivis Skrebels was the unlikely hero as the full-back bagged a brace to secure a first win since the end of May. 

Despite their recent struggles, Daugavpils sit fifth in the division, albeit 20 points behind RFS, after 20 games played this season. 

Given the history of this fixture, anything other than a comfortable away win would be a massive surprise. I'm backing RFS to win, with a minimum of three goals scored.
