Goals have to be expected when two high-scoring teams come together for a friendly contest in Portugal this weekend. 

Benfica have enjoyed a strong return to form in pre-season with two wins and two draws collected from four friendly fixtures against Farense, Almeria and Celta Vigo. Three of those games saw at least four goals scored while three also saw BTTS.

Going back to the end of last season, the Eagles have seen at least three goals scored in 11 of their last 14 matches. Seven of those 11 games also saw four goals or more netted. 

At the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, an average of 3.8 goals have been scored in Benfica´s last ten games, and I expect a similar outcome this weekend. 

Feyenoord make the trip to Lisbon after picking up back-to-back friendly victories against Dordrecht and Genk in July. 

The Dutch side, now led by Brian Priske following the departure of former head coach Arne Slot to Liverpool, have been in sensational form this year. The Rotterdammers are unbeaten in their last 16 matches with 14 victories achieved during that run. 

An average of 3.9 goals were scored in Feyenoord´s final ten fixtures of the Eredivisie season, and with Benfica averaging similar numbers in Lisbon, we can surely expect a high-scoring affair this weekend.

Goals chasers should be locked in on the BTTS and over 2.5 goals double, while I also expect at least four goals netted in a likely lively affair in Lisbon.
