An entertaining Ligue 1 encounter seems likely when league leaders PSG take on Auxerre this weekend.

The hosts return to action after seeing their three-game winning run halted with a 2:0 defeat at Toulouse over the weekend. Christophe Pélissier´s side had enjoyed a five-game unbeaten streak (W4, D1) before Sunday's road loss.

Back in the top flight following a one-year absence, Auxerre have enjoyed a positive start to life in Ligue 1, particularly at the Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps. AJA won five of six home Ligue 1 matches since their promotion from Ligue 2.

Placed eighth in the division, high-scoring outcomes have been frequent for Pélissier´s men. Auxerre have seen over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight home matches and in nine of their 11 most recent league contests.

Visiting PSG make the trip north after an uninspiring 1:1 draw against Nantes last weekend. While Luis Enrique´s men retain a seven-point advantage at the summit of Ligue 1, the Parisiens have struggled to hit top gear in recent weeks with UCL defeats against Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich potentially denting PSG confidence. 

On their travels, the Parisiens remain an undoubtedly tough nut to crack domestically. Impressively, PSG are unbeaten in 30 away Ligue 1 games since February 2023.

While an away victory can usually be expected when Enrique´s men are in action, Auxerre´s impressive home form suggests that a competitive contest should be on the cards.

With that in mind, I'm putting my money on a minimum of three goals scored with both teams likely to create plenty of chances at the Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps.
