Chicago Bulls vs Washington Wizards Prediction
Tuesday morning sees episode three of an intriguing Eastern Conference clash between two sides below .500 right now, as the Chicago Bulls (9-13) host a dwindling Washington Wizards (5-15) team with both in need of some respite to start the new week. Who will have the last laugh? Read my basketball preview, for the best betting odds ahead of this compelling H2H matchup.
Chicago Bulls vs Washington Wizards Preview
Chicago has won both H2H meetings already this term, by eight points (115-107) and most recently a three-point margin (133-130) but they've had contrasting results over the weekend.
While Washington was blown out by the Charlotte Hornets on Super Bowl Sunday, the Bulls dished out hiding of their own as they eased past Orlando to exact immediate revenge against Steve Clifford's men after a narrow loss 24 hours before.
Zach LaVine continued to justify rumblings of a first-time All-Star berth with 39 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes against Orlando.
Denzel Valentine added 20, rookie forward Patrick Williams had a double-double (16 pts, 10 rebs) and they took full advantage vs the Magic, who only shot 6-of-27 from three-point range (22.2%).
While it's unlikely they shoot 50% from deep this time out, they'll hope to keep the league's leading scorer - Bradley Beal (33.2) - relatively quiet, as he was against Miami last weekend.
He had 31 points but was 3-of-9 from three-point range during the blowout loss to Charlotte, and it'll be interesting to see whether Westbrook and Davis Bertans step up with their shooting.
Chicago Bulls vs Washington Wizards Betting Tips
Even with the Wizards' well-documented issues, this is a tricky matchup to predict - Chicago aren't exactly the most consistent team, something worsened by Lauri Markkanen (shoulder) and Otto Porter (back) being sidelined with niggling injuries.
That's perhaps why ESPN's BPI has given Washington a slight edge here (53.6%), but I can't look past the Bulls' 2-0 H2H record already as they look to complete the sweep to start the new week.
