The UEFA EURO in Germany has reached its second round, and matches are becoming increasingly captivating. Among the most anticipated encounters of the group phase, Spain will face Italy on Thursday night at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, promising a thrilling spectacle.

Spain came into EURO as one of the favorites to lift the trophy. In the first round,  they comfortably defeated Croatia 3-0 in another highly anticipated derby. Most of the Spanish dominance came in the first half when Luis de la Fuente's team scored all three goals. Despite slowing down the pace in the second half, Spain maintained almost complete control, ensuring the score remained unchanged. De la Fuente's team will have a chance to secure the knockout phase of the tournament already after the game against Italy on Thursday. 

Italy won the title in the previous tournament and they are dreaming of defending it. In the first round, Italy started with a 2-1 against Albania. Luciano Spalletti's team had an unpleasant start to that game, as the opponents had the lead after only 23 seconds. However, Italy remained calm, scored two goals in the first half, and secured all three points. Fans probably deserved more from their team, but Italy will have a chance to improve their impression in a much harder game against Spain.
