The Asian section of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers continues this week in the Ardhiyah area of Kuwait City, where the Kuwait national football team will host Palestine.

Kuwait have given their supporters very little to celebrate in the third round so far. The Blues are the only team without a win after 8 Group B games and have also conceded more goals (14) than any other team. However, Juan Antonio Pizzi’s team showed signs of improvement in their last two qualifiers in March, holding a two-goal advantage until extra time against Iraq and losing only 1:0 to Oman.

Palestine have also performed poorly in the third round of World Cup qualifiers, boasting only one win from eight matches. A mere one point separates the Lions from their hosts, meaning Thursday’s game could well determine who finishes bottom of the group.

Kuwait vs Palestine Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

Although Kuwait have conceded the most goals in this group, not many of them were home goals and I think this will be key to the outcome of Thursday’s game. The Blues shipped fewer than one goal in each of their last three home games, and none of their last four matches across all competitions saw more than two goals scored.

Palestine's major issue lately has been scoring goals away from home, with the visitors boasting just one goal from their last five fixtures on the road. Three of the last four ended with under one goal, so I think we could see a similar outcome this week.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals

Kuwait team news

Abdulrahman Al Fadhli will be unavailable to Kuwait head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi this week due to a suspension.

Al Fadhli will complete his two match ban for the red card against Irag back in march but the hosts have no major injury concerns.

Palestine team news

Palestine head coach Ihab Abu Jazar is expected to resist the temptation to make alterations to the XI that came from a goal down to beat Irag back in March.

Wessam Abou Ali’s goal in that game was his third for the campaign and the Al Ahly forward will lead the line for the visitors on Thursday.

Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals in this game

  1. Only two of the last seven games of Kuwait across all competitions produced more than two goals.
  2. Palestine failed to score in three of their last four away matches.
  3. All the last four competitive home games of Kuwait ended with under 2.5 goals.
