The Scottish Premiership returns with an intriguing contest at Tynecastle this Saturday as Hearts host Rangers in Edinburgh.

Hearts are set for their first competitive fixture of the season following a challenging pre-season campaign, during which they lost all three matches. The Jambos conceded ten goals in defeats to Leyton Orient (2-1), Tottenham (5-1), and Fleetwood Town (3-0) in July.

Despite finishing third in the Premiership last season, Hearts struggled towards the end of the campaign, with only three wins picked up from their last nine matches. However, Stevie Naismith's side have shown some impressive form at Tynecastle, remaining unbeaten in their last 11 competitive home fixtures (W7, D4). 

High-scoring outcomes have been frequent occurrences for the Jambos. Hearts saw over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last 11 games, while four of their last five saw BTTS and at least three goals netted.

A new-look Rangers side heads to Edinburgh aiming to bounce back from a disappointing pre-season. The Gers lost three and drew one of their four summer friendlies against Ajax, Manchester United, Birmingham, and Union Berlin. 

After scoring just one goal in their first three defeats against Dutch and English opponents, Clement´s side showed some improvement in claiming a 4:4 draw at Union last weekend. 

Philippe Clement's men have struggled since the end of March, failing to win ten of their 14 matches, including four of their last five away Premiership games.

However, Rangers have a strong record in Edinburgh, securing victories in six of their last seven visits to Tynecastle while the most recent meetings between these sides have usually produced plenty of goals, and that should continue on Saturday.

Over 2.5 goals is my top tip, while I also fancy both teams to net in a likely pulsating contest at Tynecastle.
