Portugal and Georgia face off at Štadión Sihot on Tuesday in a decisive UEFA U21 Championship clash, with both sides still in contention for a spot in the semifinals.

A high-stakes clash at the Štadión Sihot sees Georgia and Portugal meet with the Georgians knowing only a win will do if they are to reach the semifinals.

Portugal come into Tuesday's fixture as heavy favourites after a thumping 5:0 win against Poland left them in pole position to secure a place in the last four. Geovany Quenda's brace helped secure a crushing win for Rui Jorge's side. 

An impressive run of form has seen the Portuguese win 11 and lose just two of their last 16 internationals over the past year. While defensively strong in their 0:0 draw against France, and the dominant win against the Poles, Portugal should expect a stiff test against a Georgian side that continues to grow on the international stage.

Led by Ramaz Svanadze, Georgia claimed a fine 2:1 win against Poland on matchday one, before a heartbreaking defeat against France in Žilina on Saturday. The Georgians were moments away from a famous win, leading 2:1 late on, only to concede a gut-wrenching equaliser in the 89th minute and then a devastating winner 12 minutes into stoppage time. 

Prior to that setback, Georgia had lost just one of seven previous fixtures, while they managed to get on the scoresheet in all but one of their last 11 games. 

Considering their excellent performance against France, and their recent goal-scoring record, I fancy Georgia to push Portugal all the way in Slovakia.

Both teams to score looks a solid bet, with Portugal’s superior quality should see them edge to an entertaining victory in Slovakia.
