In the previous two tournaments, Czech Republic U21 ended their campaigns in the group phase. This time, they had a nice Qualifying Run and eventually secured a spot in the EURO U21 after beating the favored Belgium on a 3:1 aggregate in the Playoffs. Unfortunately, they ended up in probably the best group on EURO and opened the competition with a 3:1 loss against England U21. Now, they undoubtedly need points because a loss would end their hopes of reaching the next phase. The last time they managed to come out of the group phase was back in 2011, when they finished fifth.

Germany U21 are one of the teams constantly battling for the title. In the last four, they won two titles and were the vice-champions on one occasion. Unfortunately, their last tournament was a disaster after finishing their competition in the group stage, and they are undoubtedly under pressure to do a much better job this year. In the first round, they met with Slovenia U21, beating them comfortably 3:0. Looking at the qualifiers and the friendlies before the competition, Germany should be among the favorites to win the title, but the bookies aren't convinced as they are only the 6th favorite for the title with the odds of 19.

Czech Republic U21 vs Germany U21 pick: Over 2.5 goals

In the first game in EURO U21, the Czech Republic lost 3:1 vs England and was easily over this line. They created more xG and probably deserved at least one more goal. However, we are not surprised they managed to score, considering they scored at least a goal in 11 out of the last 13 matches. They even scored two against Spain U21 and Belgium U21. Another significant advantage for this bet is that they consistently demonstrate weaknesses in defending against solid teams, and this trend is likely to continue in this game as well.

Germany have been fantastic. In 2024 and 2025, they won eight and drew three times while scoring 34 goals - 3.4 per game. They had some fantastic offensive displays against teams better than Czechia, as they managed to score three goals against Spain, Denmark, and Poland and two against France. So, it is expected to see another good display from them. Mostly due to a good offensive display, they went over 2.5 goals in eight of those 11 games - 73%.

In the previous h2h game in 2023, Czechia won 2:1. While we believe Germany U21 to be a better team, we are reluctant to take a bet on them winning and covering the -1/1.5 AH spread. Instead, we think that an over 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this EURO U21 tie.
