Drogheda United make the trip to Cork on Monday evening as they look to extend their unbeaten away run to four matches against an out-of-form home side.

The Drogs make a quick return to action after hard-fought 1:0 win against Sligo Rovers on Friday evening. Douglas James-Taylor's second goal of the season secured a vital victory for Kevin Doherty's men.

A tough side to beat, Drogheda have avoided defeat in eight of their last ten games, and while wins have been hard to come by, with seven of their last 13 games finishing level, the Drogs will be confident of picking up a positive road result on Monday. 

Away from home, Doherty's side claimed draws in each of their last three road fixtures, and given Cork's recent form, it would not be a surprise if they went one better to claim the pòints this week.

Cork come into Monday's contest having now lost ten of their last 14 games, including six of their last seven Premier Division fixtures. Ger Nash's men fell to a 4:1 defeat at Shamrock Rovers in their most recent outing on Friday. 

A dismal run of results has seen the home side fail to win all but one of their last 18 games played since February. Cork now find themselves bottom of the division, 13 points short of safety.

While the visitors have struggled to turn draws into wins, they are a reliable double chance selection. An away win or draw is my best bet at Turner's Cross.
