Burnley had a terrible last season in the Premier League, easily getting relegated. This season, the Clarets are looking for an instant return and will try to avoid playing in the Playoffs. Right now, they are in 3rd place with 74 points from 36 rounds - only two away from the first-placed Leeds and second-placed Sheffield United. The Clarets were also solid in the FA Cup but surprisingly got eliminated by Preston in the 1/8 Finals about ten days ago. However, we believe that is a good thing because they will now fully focus on their promotion battle.

Since West Bromwich Albion suffered relegation from the Premier League in 2020/21, they are trying to return to English top-flight division. Unfortunately, they weren't too successful, only managing to secure the playoffs last year. However, they lost in the Semi-Finals to Southampton - a team that eventually secured promotion. This season, it seems the Baggies will battle to secure the Playoffs until the very last round, as they are in 6th place right now with 55 points from 36 rounds. But the teams below them (Bristol City, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Norwich, and Watford) are super close, and in order to stay in the top six, they need to start winning some points away from home, where they have been pretty bad lately.

Burnley vs WBA pick: Burnley to win

Burnley are in excellent form. If we exclude the FA Cup game against Preston, the Clarets are on a 23-game unbeaten run. Also, at home, the Clarets have been fantastic, winning two in a row without conceding a goal in those matches. They have been fantastic defensive, especially at home, where they kept a clean sheet in the last seven games!

Most of WBA's poor performances came away from home. The Baggies are currently on an 11-game winless streak away from home and it seems that securing positive result against one of the best teams in the league will be a massive challenge.

We believe that Burnley are a better team overall, and considering their fantastic form and WBA's poor road performances, we strongly believe the Clarets will secure a comfortable home win.

Burnley team news

After a 4:0 win over Luton, coach Scott Parker spoke to the media. He was satisfied with a win but did not want to speak about promotion and said he was all about the next game. "There are a couple of ways to get out of this division. Our aim is to obviously get out automatically, but it is full focus on what is next," the coach added.

Jordan Beyer, Bashir Humphreys, Aaron Ramsey, and Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye, who missed the previous games with injuries, should remain sidelined.
