Two sides separated by just three places in the Egyptian top flight go head to head on Friday evening as Zamalek play host to Pharco.

The hosts have not been able to match the standards they set themselves in recent years. José Gomes' men won the 2021-22 and 2022-23 titles before finishing third last season, but they are not even in the top 10 at the moment. However, the Whites have rediscovered their form of late, with the team losing just one of the last five games in all competitions.

Pharco are another Egyptian Premier League side that has underperformed this season. The visitors currently sit six places below where they finished the previous campaign and enter this week’s game with a run of four consecutive league games without a win.

Zamalek vs Pharco Betting Tips: Both teams to score

Zamalek have the joint third-best defence in the Premier League this season, but there have been plenty of errors in their backline lately. The White Knight enter Friday’s game with just two clean sheets from their last seven  and shipped two goals for the first time in five games against Al Masry last time out.

Pharco just can’t stop scoring goals at the moment. The visitors have found the back of the net in each of their last seven encounters and also did so in their last four Egyptian Premier League away matches.

Another reason to expect goals is that recent meetings between Zamalek and Pharco were very entertaining. Each of the last two produced four goals or more and I don’t think Friday’s game will be different.
