Sweden will be looking to end their June international break on a high when they welcome Algeria to the Friends Arena on Tuesday.
The hosts picked up where they left off in their 5-1 victory over Northern Ireland three months ago on Friday when they visited Hungary. Goals from Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari and Swedish forward Benjamin Nygren secured the win for the Blue and Yellows, who also kept a clean sheet for the first time in five friendlies.
Algeria also kept a clean sheet in their own friendly on Thursday evening as Riyad Mahrez and co beat Rwanda 2:0 on home soil. Les Fennecs have now kept clean sheets in three consecutive games for the first time since January 2024. Nonetheless, the fact that they have won only one of their last three away games may be a cause for concern for head coach Vladimir Petković ahead of Tuesday’s match.
Sweden vs Algeria Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Sweden only scored twice last time out in Hungary and kept a clean sheet, but the Blue and Yellows have been ruthless in recent home games. They scored ten goals in their last two home games alone and none of the last five produced fewer than three goals.
Algeria will be motivated by the fact that they have conceded only three goals in their last six games across all competitions, but only two of those games produced fewer than three goals, and the Desert Warriors also conceded two goals the last two they faced Sweden.
