Shamrock Rovers will be looking for a sixth successive Premier League win when they welcome Galway United to Dublin this weekend. 

An impressive run of results has seen the home side return to the top of the division with 15 points picked up from five league games played since a 1:1 draw against Cork at the start of May. 

Now six points clear at the summit of the division at the midway point of the campaign, Shamrock have also enjoyed a strong run of results at Tallaght Stadium. Stephen Bradley's side won six while losing just one of their last nine home league fixtures. 

Unbeaten in 14 of their last 15 league fixtures, the hosts will be expected to maintain winning form in a likely high-scoring contest. Five of the last six matches at this venue saw a minimum of three goals scored. 

Historically, Shamrock have dominated this fixture, claiming victories in all but two of their last 16 competitive meetings since 2015, and a similar outcome is expected this weekend.

Sitting seventh in the ten-team league, Galway travel to Dublin after snapping a four-game losing streak with a gritty 2:1 win over Cork last weekend. Conor McCormack's first goal of the season secured a first win in a month for the Tribesmen. 

While lifted by that victory, John Caulfield’s side have lost their last two away games, and it’s difficult to see them coming away with anything this weekend.
