Germany can secure their place in the knockout phase of the European Championship when they take on Hungary at Stuttgart Arena on Wednesday evening. 

Germany vs Hungary Betting Tips: Germany to Win / Over 2.5  

A hugely impressive host nation kicked-off the European Championships last Friday with a stunning 5:1 win against a shell-shocked Scotland. A hugely impressive first-half saw the Germans race into a 3:0 lead with goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, and Kai Havertz. Further goals from Nicklas Fullkrug and Emre Can sealed an excellent victory for Julian Nagelsmann´s side.

Contrastingly, Hungary began their Euro 2024 campaign with a poor performance in losing 3:1 against Switzerland on Saturday. Breel Embolo´s stoppage time goal put the seal on a well-deserved win for Murat Yakin´s men. 

With a final match against Scotland to come, Hungary know they may well need at least a point from this fixture to have any chance of qualifying for the round of sixteen. Hungary had enjoyed a strong run of form before the Swiss defeat, with a pre-tournament defeat against Ireland breaking a 15-game unbeaten run. 

Still, it's going to take something special for Hungary to take something against a confident and fluid German side that looks capable of a strong run at these finals.

Previous meetings between these nations have been competitive, with Hungary remaining unbeaten in their last three encounters, including a 2:2 draw at Euro 2020. However, with home advantage, I expect Germany to ease to another victory on Wednesday.

Goals are usually to be expected when Nagelsmann´s side are in action. Germany saw over 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last ten home fixtures over the past year and I expect a similar outcome this week.
