- Date: Saturday, 7th June, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CEST
- Venue: Helsinki Olympic Stadium (Helsinki)
Finland came to the WC Qualifiers after a disappointing campaign in the UEFA Nations League B as they got relegated while losing all six games against England, Greece, and Ireland. However, after that terrible run, they opened these World Cup Qualifiers very well, winning four points in the first two games. Still, those matches were against Malta and Lithuania - the worst ones in the group. Currently, they sit in second place, two points behind first-placed Poland. But now, the match against the heavily favored Netherlands will be a real challenge.
Netherlands is one of the best national teams in Europe and the world. In the last two major tournaments, the World Cup and the European Championship, they finished fifth and third. After those two successful campaigns, they had a strong UEFA National League run as well, reaching the Playoffs but ultimately losing in the Quarterfinals on penalties against one of the best teams in the World, Spain. Due to those duels against Spain, Netherlands are yet to play a game in this WC Qualifiers.
Finland vs Netherlands pick: Netherlands to win and cover the -1.5 AH spread
Finland secured a win and a draw in the first two games against Lithuania and Malta. Still, those teams are quite underwhelming, and they haven't impressed regardless. Before those two matches, they lost six in a row when facing somewhat solid teams (England, Greece, and Ireland) while losing by two or more goals in four out of those six matches.
Netherlands haven't been great in recent matches, winning just once in the last seven. However, they mostly faced excellent European teams, and in some games, they rotated their squad. Now, with their best players called, we expect them to dominate and open the Qualifiers with a big win.
Additionally, Netherlands won four h2h games in a row while covering the -1.5 AH spread on three occasions. Considering all the above, we believe the popular "Oranje" will secure a comfortable win over Finland.

Netherlands team news
In recent days, coach Ronald Koeman has heavily criticized the Club World Cup schedule. He said he is aware the clubs are making a lot of money because of it but also noted that a number of games are destroying the players. He specifically mentioned Denzel Dumfries and Nathan Ake, who are expected to travel to America immediately after the duels against Finland and Malta.
