An in-form Elfsborg come into Sunday´s Allsvenskan contest looking to bounce back from a 2:1 home reversal against Djurgarden last weekend. Prior to that defeat, Oscar Hiljemark´s side had won six successive matches, including three league contests. 

Impressive at Borås Arena, Elfsborg claimed victories in eight of their last nine matches played since mid-April. The Elegants scored at least two goals in all eight wins, while they kept clean sheets in five, including a 2:0 midweek win against Sheriff last week.

Now seventh in the Allsvenskan, the hosts sit three points and two places behind visiting GAIS who arrive in Borås, also looking to bounce back from a home defeat against Norrkoping. 

While still fifth in the division, GAIS have struggled to find much consistency in recent weeks. The visitors won three, lost three and drew two of their last eight games played since the start of June.

Away from home, Frederik Holmberg´s men have stumbled to defeat in four of their last five Allsvenskan contests. The Mackerels. lost four in a row before a 1:0 win at AIK a fortnight ago.

These sides have met on just two occasions over the past six years, with both claiming respective home victories. Elfsborg have won five of their last six home games against GAIS, although four of those victories came over ten years ago.

With Elfsborg usually reliable on home soil, and GAIS continuing to struggle on their travels, I'm confidently backing the hosts to claim another Allsvenskan victory on Sunday.
