After only one season in the Bundesliga, Darmstadt will return to the second level of German football. Die Lilien Hofwere by far the worst team this season, with only 17 points from 32 matches. Darmstadt are in a terrible run with four losses in the last five matches. In the previous game, they lost 3-0 on the road against Wolfsburg. That was another awful game for Torsten Lieberknecht's team as they had 12 shots fewer than the opponent. Darmstadt surely can't wait for this season to be over, so we shouldn't expect them to be motivated against Hoffenheim. 

Hoffenheim still have something to fight for as they are 8th on the table but with only one point less than the place that could give them a Conference League appearance next season. However, Hoffenheim's form is far from ideal, as they won only two of the last eight matches. In the previous round, Pellegrino Matarazzo's team surprisingly played 1-1 at home against RB Leipzig. The home side probably deserved all three points in that one as they had xG of 1.66, while guests had only 0.86.
