After a goalless draw in the first leg of the 1/16 Finals of Copa Betano do Brasil, Athletico Paranaense and Brusque will face off in the second leg at Ligga Arena in Curitiba.

Atletico Paranaense had a terrible last year, suffering relegation after 12 consecutive seasons in the Serie A. This year, after a decent performance in the state league, the popular Hurricane haven't been at an expected level in Serie B. Right now, they are in 12th place with 10 points from eight rounds - already six away from the top spot. To be fair, they are still three points away from the promotion spots, but we can safely say this isn't the start we expected for the Parana team. Brusque also suffered relegation last year. However, they dropped from Serie B to C, finishing their season seven points away from the safe zone. This year, "Quadricolor" are the favorite to make an instant return, and are doing well for now. After six rounds, they won 11 points and are sitting in 3rd place, just two points away from the top spot. In this Cup game, they are a big underdog, but they definitely have their chances, considering they have been excellent on the road thus far.

Atletico Paranaense vs Brusque pick: Under 2.5 goals

Atletico Paranaense are in terrible form, having won only two points in the last five matches in all competitions. During that five-game stretch, they scored only four goals - 0.8 per game. So, we doubt they can offer a good offensive performance against a team with five clean sheets in the last seven matches.

Brusque, as we mentioned, have been great defensively. Mostly due to that great defense, they were under 2.5 goals in six of the last seven matches - 86%.

While we believe that Atletico Paranaense are a better team and closer to winning the match, we are very reluctant to take a bet on them to win and cover the -1/-1.5 AH spread due to a poor form. Instead, considering all the above, we think that an under 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this Cup tie.
