Atletico Mineiro enters this match with a renewed sense of confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over Internacional on Thursday. 

Having made a slow start to the season - Atletico MG sit 11th in the division - Thursday´s win could be a vital one in helping the hosts climb the Serie A table.

At Arena MRV, Atletico are a tough side to beat with six wins and just one loss in their last ten Serie A home fixtures. However, they have only managed to win one of their last four in front of their own support. 

Six of Atletico MG´s last nine home games saw BTTS, while the hosts have managed just three clean sheets in their last 12 games in Belo Horizonte.

Atletico GO make the trip to Minas Gerais in decent form, with only one defeat recorded in their last five matches. However, three of those games did finish deadlocked, with wins also proving hard to come by.

Away from home, Anderson Gomes´s side have proven tough to beat though. Atletico GO won two and lost just one of their last five on the road. Eight of their last 12 away league games since the end of last season also saw BTTS. 

While unlikely to be a goalfest, I am confident both teams can net this weekend. Historically, this fixture has proven a reliable one for goal chasers. Eleven of 14 previous encounters saw BTTS including six of seven matches played at this venue. 

With neither side consistent enough to consider backing, I'm putting my faith in both teams netting at the Arena MRV.
