Toulouse had a historic last season despite finishing 13th in the league. They secured their first major trophy by winning the Cup title and made history. However, we have to say that they had a really easy route as they faced only lower-league teams and then Nantes, which was one of the worst Ligue 1 teams last season. This season, they struggle in the league and are currently 14th with 17 points, only one away from the danger zone. Also, they once again had an easy route in the Cup but were eliminated in the last game by Rouen - a third-tier team. Their biggest accomplishment this season is undoubtedly in the Europa League, where they secured the 1/16 Finals but will have an extremely tough task of beating Benfica.
Lens had one of the best seasons last year, finishing second, just one point away from the eventual champions, PSG. However, they did not start this season well, winning just one point in the first five games. After that terrible stretch, they started playing better and slowly moved up on the league table. Right now, they are 8th with 26 points, just three points away from the European spots. But, with three losses in a row (two in a league and one in the Cup) against French top teams, PSG, Nice, and Monaco, we can safely say that Lens are not on last season's level.
