Sirius vs Goteborg prediction 16.05.2024

Since arriving to Allsvenskan in 2017, Sirius has mostly been in the mid or lower part of the league table but were pretty safe from the danger zone. This year, they had a decent start in the Svenska Cup, failing to secure the Playoffs only due to a worse goal difference. In Allsvenskan, after a great start with two wins, they went on a terrible streak in the following five. However, a win in the last round against in-form AIK will surely help them to change that negative momentum. Currently, they are 10th with 10 points in eight rounds. 

Goteborg, an 18-time Swedish champion, have not been performing at the desired level for the past seven years and have been far from securing a spot in European competitions. Last season was particularly disappointing, as they finished 13th, just one point above the relegation playoff spot. This year, the Blue-Whites continue to struggle and are currently 14th in the league, with only seven points from eight rounds.

Sirius vs Goteborg pick: Under 2.5 goals

Both teams have been far from impressive so far, especially on the offensive end. Sirius scored only nine (1.125 per game) and Goteborg were even worse with seven goals (0.875) in eight rounds. On the other hand, they were solid defensively, as Sirius kept a clean sheet in one of the first three home games (33%), while Goteborg kept their net intact in two of four road games (50%). 

These teams met twice in the previous season, with Sirius winning both matches. More importantly for our bet, they were under 2.5 goals on both occasions (1:0 and 2:0). 

Considering the previous h2h games and pretty poor offensive performances from both teams so far, we believe that under 2.5 goals is the safest option for his Allsvenskan match.
