Scotland played at the previous EURO, but after winning only one point in three group phase matches, the Scottish football team finished the competition much earlier than most of them expected. However, this year, they will play at EURO again, and in a group with Germany, Hungary, and Switzerland, Steve Clarke's team will have a solid chance to qualify for the knockout phase.

Of course, Scotland have to dramatically improve their level as they won only one of the last eight matches. The only win came a few days ago when Clarke's team won 2-0 at home in a friendly against Gibraltar. Once again, Scotland had so many problems scoring, but they finally broke the opponent's defense in the second half.

Finland failed to qualify for the EURO, so they will continue to prepare for the UEFA Nations League, which will start in September. Finland lost two of the last three matches. In the previous game, they lost 4-2 on the road in a friendly against Portugal. Guests can be happy with the final result as they scored two goals from only two shots on the goal. Throughout the game, it was clear that the home side was a much better side.

Scotland vs Finland pick: Both teams to score - yes

Scotland usually scores at home. Actually, they scored at least one goal in 14 of the last 15 home matches. On the other hand, Finland scored at least one goal in each of the last six games. We should expect both teams to score in Friday's game.

Scotland team news

Scotland have injury problems. They are already without Nathan Patterson and Aaron Hickey, who failed to make even a provisional 28-man team. A few days ago, QPR's Lyndon Dykes suffered an ankle injury at training. He will miss EURO, and now the head coach, Steve Clarke, has only two strikers available, Che Adams and Lawrence Shankland.

Scott McTominay, Stuart Armstrong, and Grant Hanley are injured, too, but Clarke said all three could be ready to play against Finland on Friday.

Finland team news

Finland doesn't have a real star in the squad. Probably the best is Lukas Hradecky, who was tremendous with Bayer Leverkusen last season. However, Hradecky is already 34 years old and Finland have to prepare for life without him. Most of the rest of the squad is far from an adequate level.
