Sao Paulo returns to home comforts this week with plenty of reasons to be confident after another excellent away win on Thursday. The Tricolor Paulista have scored three successive 3:1 away victories across three different competitions over the past ten days. 

After losing their first two Serie A matches of the season, Sao Paulo have responded well with seven points collected from their last three fixtures. The Tricolor Paulista have won five and drawn one of six games played since a 2:1 win defeat at Flamengo in April. 

At the MorumBIS, Luis Zubeldía´s side have yet to win from two league games played but after such a strong week with wins at Águia de Marabá, Vitória and Cobresal, Sao Paulo will be optimistic of picking up a first league victory of the season in front of their own support. 

Fluminese come into Tuesday's contest still looking to find their best form in Serie A. The visitors have picked up just one win from five games played while they have lost both of their two away fixtures at Bahia and Corinthians. Fernando Diniz´s side sit 16th in the division, at this early stage of the campaign. 

Recent encounters between these rivals have been tight, while home advantage has proved crucial with four of the last five meetings won by the home side.

While this is sure to be a competitive and keenly fought contest, I expect Sao Paulo to have the quality to claim their first home win of the season.  

I'm backing the hosts to claim three points but don´t be surprised if we see goals at both ends. That outcome has occurred in 12 of the last 16 meetings between these sides since 2008.
