Reading U21 vs Norwich U21 prediction 18.03.2024

On Monday evening, Reading U21 and Norwich U21 will face off in the Premier League 2 at a neutral pitch at EBB Stadium in Aldershot Town. 

Reading U21 had an excellent start to the season, as they were around the top six places in the league, but with only one win in the last four games, they dropped to 10th place. So far, they have won 24 points, but since 16 teams will play in the playoffs this year, we think they are on a good course of securing the playoff spot. The biggest problem for Reading U21 this season is their terrible road record. 

Last year, Norwich U21 missed the playoffs of the Premier League 2 Group 2 only by three points! This year, the rules are very different, and Norwich U21 are on a good path to securing it. Right now, they are 14th with 20 points, but with a couple of potential losses, they could easily drop from the playoffs. Unfortunately for them, the remaining schedule is pretty challenging, and every game will be highly important. 

Reading U21 vs Norwich U21 pick: Over 3.5 goals

Reading U21 are playing totally differently at home and away from it. At home, they won 20 of the total 24 points - (83%). Considering that this game will be played on a neutral pitch and not at home, we do not trust them to win the match. Lately, Reading U21 have scored at least two goals in seven of 11 goals, and we think they will score at least a couple of goals vs out-of-form Norwich U21. 

Lately, Norwich U21 mostly played high-scoring games and were over 3.5 goals in three of the last four games in all competitions. Their defense totally collapsed, allowing nine goals in those four matches. On the positive side, their offense has been good, and they scored at least two goals during that four-game stretch. 

Considering all the above, we believe that an over 3.5 goals is the safest option for this tie.
