With their Premiership title hopes all but over, Rangers return to Ibrox Stadium to take on Dundee.

A 2:1 defeat at Dundee Park this past weekend leaves Rangers six points behind their great rivals with two games remaining in the Premiership campaign. While the Gers retain a mathematical chance of claiming the crown, Sunday's loss was surely the final nail in the coffin of their title hopes.

A stumbling end to the season saw Rangers throw away their advantage at the summit of the division. Phillipe Clement´s side only managed to win five of their last ten league matches. They had won 12 of 13 league games played between December and March. 

Still, despite their recent stumbles, Rangers can generally be relied on for a high-scoring home win. The Gers won 12 and lost just one of their last 14 home Premiership matches. At least three goals were scored in 13 of their Gers last 15 league games at Ibrox. 

Visiting Dundee have enjoyed an excellent season in the Premiership but come into this fixture now winless in six matches after a 3:0 defeat at Hearts on Saturday. Tony Docherty´s side now sit sixth in the division, five points behind fifth-placed St Mirren.

Away from home, the Dark Blues have lost four of their last six league matches, while they have conceded an average of over two goals per game in their last ten road trips.

Dundee´s history in this fixture suggests a home win has to be expected again on Tuesday, despite the Gers weekend disappointments. The Dark Blues lost their last 16 visits to Ibrox since 2001. 

Given Rangers' solid home record, and Dundee´s recent dip in form, I'm backing the hosts to claim the points with at least three goals scored. That outcome also occurred in five of the last seven meetings between these sides.
