Santos makes the trip to Parana looking to avoid a fourth successive defeat after successive losses against América Mineiro, Botafogo and Novorizontino.

Relegated from Serie A for the first time in their history last season, Santos have struggled to adapt to life in Serie B. The Peixe began the season well with five wins from six games however, recent defeats have piled the pressure on head coach Fabio Carille.

On the road, Santos have looked particularly vulnerable this year. Carille´s side have lost five of their last seven away matches since the start of March. 

Contrastingly, hosts Operario have enjoyed a strong run of form with just two defeats in their last nine Serie A matches. Rafael Guanaes´s side picked up 1:0 victories in their last two Serie B contests against Amazonas and Guarani SP. Impressively, Ferroviario have kept clean sheets in four of their last five league contests.

At the Estádio Germano Krüger, Operario remain unbeaten in nine of ten home fixtures completed this season, including each of four Serie B games played since March. Strong defensively, Operario kept clean sheets in three of those matches.

With Santos struggling, particularly on the road, and Operario picking up form, I expect the hosts to at least avoid defeat on Wednesday.
