Nigeria vs Cameroon Betting Tips - Nigeria to Win
Nigeria come into Saturday's crunch match in Abidjan still unbeaten in the competition after topping Group A with seven points from a possible nine. After a frustrating 1:1 draw against surprise-package Equatorial Guinea, the Super Eagles responded with back-to-back 1:0 wins against Côte d'Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau securing top spot in the section.
Having now lost only one of their last 11 matches since March, José Peseiro´s side will fancy their chances of going deep in this competition.
Contrastingly, Cameroon made hard work of their qualification from Group B. The Indomitable Lions narrowly squeezed into the last sixteen after a late goal in their last group match against Gambia secured a much-needed 3:2 win. Cameroon had begun the tournament with a 1:1 draw against Guinea before a deflating 3:1 loss against Senegal.
With five defeats suffered in their last 13 games since January 2023, Rigobert Song´s side could have their work cut out for them this weekend. In addition, the Indomitable Lions have only managed one clean sheet in their last eight matches.
Historically, Nigeria have had the better of recent meetings between these nations. The Super Eagles have won four and lost just one of seven previous contests over the past 20 years.
A likely tight affair, where chances could be at a premium, this is a tough one to call but Nigeria´s superior form and previous success in this matchup suggests the Super Eagles are the team to back on Saturday.
I'm putting my money on Nigeria to qualify while they can get the job done inside 90 minutes against a defensively vulnerable Cameroon side.
