Montenegro never played at any major tournament. That will not change in 2024 either, as they failed to qualify for EURO. Montenegro collected 11 points in eight qualification matches, but that was seven points behind Hungary and three points behind Serbia, who got two tickets for the European championship. Now, Montenegro are preparing for the Nations League and the next World Cup qualifications. On Thursday, they won 2-0 in a friendly in Antalya against Belarus. Montenegro were much better at converting goal-scoring chances, so it is no wonder they recorded a win that will give them a lot of confidence.

North Macedonia played at EURO in 2021, but they failed to repeat that success. North Macedonia were in a very tough group with England, Italy, and Ukraine, so it wasn't realistic for the Balkan country to finish among the best two teams. On Friday afternoon, North Macedonia had a perfect opportunity to boost their morale against weak Moldova, but eventually, the game finished 1-1.

Montenegro vs North Macedonia pick: Both teams to score - yes

Montenegro and North Macedonia are far from the best European teams, but at least they are scoring regularly. Montenegro scored at least one goal in each of the last eight matches, while North Macedonia scored at least one goal in six of the previous seven games. Both teams to score - yes, should be the best bet for this tie.

Montenegro team news

Montenegro changed their head coach after failing to qualify for EURO. Miodrag Radulovic stepped down and at his place came legendary Robert Prosinecki. Of course, he is much more recognized as an ex-player of Real Madrid and Barcelona and not so much for his coaching, but he will try to lead Montenegro to their first major tournament.

After a win in his first match in charge, Robert Prosinecki was very satisfied. He said that he was very satisfied with the players' approach and domination in a large portion of the game.

North Macedonia team news

North Macedonia failed to win in a friendly match against Moldova, and after the game, the head coach, Blagoja Milevski, said that Moldova managed to draw with one shot on the goal.

He said, "I can only congratulate the footballers for their desire and the chances they created. Unfortunately, they failed to use five or six of the excellent chances that they had. The opponent managed to draw with the first shot within the goal. Before the match, I said that I would give some players a chance to see how they would behave in different positions than what they are playing, and I can say that I am partially satisfied, but there is a lot of room to correct some things. I want to look for a solution to some positions that are problematic for us at the moment."
