Monaco vs PSG prediction 01.03.2024

Last year, Monaco blew the opportunity to secure Europe as they lost the last three games and eventually failed to secure it only by two points. This year, the Red and Whites started the season great in the Ligue 1 and held the first place after the first nine rounds. But since then, they were inconsistent and are now 3rd, already 13 points behind the best team in France and their next opponent, PSG. Also, they were knocked out of the Cup by Rouen, a National division team, and since the Ligue 1 title is pretty distant, their goal has to be a top-three finish in order to secure the Champions League appearance next season.

PSG have been a dominant force in France, securing the title in nine of the previous eleven seasons. The Parisians are playing another great season and are the clear-cut favorite in the domestic competitions. However, their main goal is to finally secure the Champions League title, and for now, things are going according to plan as they won the first leg game vs Real Sociedad by 2:0 in the 1/8 Finals. But in France, they are undoubtedly the best team in the country. 

Monaco vs PSG pick: PSG to win

Monaco are in poor form, winning just twice in the last six games. Those wins came against good teams, Lens and Nice, but we cannot say they were too impressive, and we doubt those types of performances are good enough to secure positive results against the best team in France. At home, they were especially bad, winning only one point in four matches, and we cannot say they had a tough schedule. 

PSG are once again the best team in France, no doubt about it. They won 16 of 23 Ligue 1 games - 70%, and interestingly, their winning percentage is better on the road than at home. Lately, PSG have been superb on the road, winning five in a row while scoring at least two goals every time. 

In the first h2h game this season, at Parc des Princes, PSG dismantled Monaco, winning 5:2. This time, at Stade Louis II in Monaco, we expect a much closer match, but once again, a win for the Parisians.
