On Wednesday evening, two Europe-chasing teams, Manchester United and Newcastle, will face off at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Manchester United entered this season with high hopes after winning the Carabao Cup, reaching the FA Cup Finals, finishing 3rd in the Premier League, and securing the Champions League appearance. It seemed that Erik ten Hag was the right man to return them to the top teams in England. However, this season has been nothing less than a disappointment, as the Red Devils are on pace with having one of the worst seasons in the club's history. At this moment, they are 8th with 54 points, three points away from the 6th and 7th placed teams Newcastle and Chelsea. This game is a must-win, but if they fail to win, they will have an alternative route to secure Europe, considering they will face off against Manchester City in the FA Cup Finals. Their FA Cup run is pretty much the only bright spot of the season. 

After a huge last season when they finished 4th, Newcastle also had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, constant injuries and Tonali's suspension prevented them from having another big season. For a big part of the season, they even had to rely on 17-year-old Lewis Miley to start! Still, the Magpies are 6th, and with a positive result here, they will secure at least a Europa Conference League appearance. 

Manchester United vs Newcastle pick: Newcastle to (AH 0) win

Manchester United lost back-to-back games vs Crystal Palace and Arsenal with a 0:5 goal difference! The Red Devils have been really bad lately, winning only against the worst team in the league, Sheffield United, in the last eight Premier League games. 

On the other hand, Newcastle won two of the last three and five of the previous eight matches! Additionally, their only loss during that eigh-game period was against Crystal Palace. Yes, the Magpies have had a bit easier schedule lately, but it is still a very good stretch.

This season, Newcastle won both h2h games. They won 1:0 in the league at home and 3:0 away from it in the Carabao Cup. In both games, the Magpies were significantly better and totally played MU. Additionally, Manchester United won just once in the last six h2h games, and considering the massive difference in form, we believe the Magpies are much closer to winning the upcoming Premier League match.
