Manchester City will be looking to keep alive their hopes of winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title this weekend, when they play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Since getting eliminated from the Champions League on penalties in the quarter-finals against Real Madrid, City have been great to watch both offensively and defensively. The Cityzens enter this weekend’s clash with a run of three consecutive wins across all competitions and didn’t concede a single goal. However, Pep's side remain a point below Arsenal and with a game in hand - meaning this game is a must-win.

Wolves meanwhile were in the relegation battle a few months ago, but they are safe now with the team sitting seven places above the relegation zone. The Wanderers were last in action last Saturday against relegation candidates Luton Town at Molineux where they registered a 2-1 win, ending a seven game winless run in all competitions. Gary O'Neil’s men will be looking to register back to back wins for the first time since February this weekend, but that’s highly unlikely as they lost their last three visits to the Etihad 8-1.

Manchester City vs Wolves Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

City boast three clean sheets from their last three outings, but all the two league games played in this spell were away from the Etihad. Pep’s side failed to keep a clean sheet in three of their last four home games in the Premier League and as many games produced at least four goals.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have one of the worst defences in this division. The visitors enter this game with a run of ten consecutive games without a clean sheet and have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five games on the road.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Man City vs Wolves prediction: 3-1

Manchester City team news

Manchester City boss Pep Quardiola is likely to be without first-choice keeper Ederson this weekend due to injury.

The Brazilian was replaced by Stefan Ortega at half-time in the win over Forest last time out due to a shoulder injury and is a doubt for the visit of Wolves.

Rúben Dias and Phil Foden are unlikely to make it into the starting eleven after missing last weekend’s game due to illness but Erling Haaland is set to start after announcing his return with a goal as a substitute against Forest.

Wolves team news

Pedro Neto will be unavailable to Wolves boss Gary O'Neil this weekend due to a hamstring injury, but the winger is the visitors’ only absentee for the trip to the Etihad.

Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha are the club’s joint-top scorers this season with eleven goals each and the duo should reunite in the final third this weekend, while Pablo Sarabia who has seven assists to his name is pushing for a start in midfield.

Three reasons we expect at least three goals in this game

  1. Wolves didn’t finish any of their last ten games without conceding.
  2. Three of the last four league games of City produced at least four goals.
  3. Just one of the last eight meetings between Man City and Wolves ended with Under 2.5 goals.
